Miscellaneous cards

For Mother's Day weekend (yes, I claim the whole weekend), I asked for a day of uninterrupted scrapping.  Well, I got about 2 hours!  Here are a few cards I made.

Fabulous You stamp set, alcohol markers, and mocha adhesive pearls.

Design inspired by Brenda Beckham.  Pinwheel stamp set.

Treasured Friend stamp set, color ready ribbon, and alcohol markers (butterfly is from another company).

This was made with scraps from the Dream Pop paper collection.  I also used CTMH shimmer tape and bitty sparkles.

Dream Pop - Coming Soon!

In honor of National Scrapbooking Month, you can get a special paper packet for only $10 when you spend $35 in May (valued at $19.95 retail). This paper packet includes 12 cardstock sheets as well as 12 patterned papers designed for this promotion—you can’t get the paper packet anywhere else! The cardstock sheets are unique because each sheet has a different clear "resist" pattern to add more dimension to all your projects.  The images below don't do the paper justice - they are truly gorgeous.

Start National Scrapbooking Month off right with a unique paper packet at a bargain price and get your creative juices flowing!  Also, consider hosting this month: Hostesses receive one paper packet FREE with qualifying May gathering sales totals of $400 or more.

Layout above inspired by Susan Williams.

For Always

The "For Always" paper pack  - at first glance - is rather frilly (I thought), so I challenged myself to come up with layouts that were gender neutral.  I think I did okay until I got to the last one, then I was overcome with the need to add flowers to something! ha ha

After creating these layouts, I still have 1 1/2 sheets of patterned paper left, as well as some scraps of solid cardstock.  I'll make cards out of all of that.  I did make a couple changes: I substituted Sunset cardstock for the Honey cardstock for the Giants layout, and I used additional white and black cardstock for page bases and photo mats.

Puddles

Yes, you can stomp in puddles, but have you ever stamped with them?  Now is your chance!  To create your own puddle pad:

  • Unfold a clean/wet baby wipe, then fold in half, then in half again (you'll want to get the creases out of the middle, but size for your stamp - make additional "layers" as needed for large stamp images) to make a stamp "pad".
  • Place the pad on top a large acrylic block.
  • Using your reinkers, saturate the wipe with ink in whatever colors and pattern you like (I used stripes below).
  • Blot your stamp in the newly created "puddle pad" and stamp as usual.  You'll be able to get multiple stamp images from a single puddle pad.
  • If your image looks "blotchy" and the paper shows through, you need more ink!  It really needs to be saturated.
  • When done, wipe off your acrylic block and dispose of the wipe.  Voila!

Card instructions:
  • You'll need one A2 (5 1/2 x 4 1/4) White Daisy card base.
  • Cut a piece of White Daisy cardstock to 5 1/4 x 4.
  • Stamp sun (from Splended Day stamp set) in top left corner with Honey ink.
  • Daub edges with Honey ink and adhere to card.
  • Cut out balloon, basket, and clouds with CTMH Artiste Cricut cartridge.
  • Daub edges of clouds with Sky ink and adhere.
  • Use puddle pad to stamp balloon image (April stamp of the month), color flag with marker, and pop up with a foam dot.
  • Draw balloon ropes and color basket as desired.
  • Stamp sentiment at bottom, as desired.
